CONTINUING EDUCATION (CE)

As part of OPHA's mission to promote the professional experiences and development of Oklahoma's health and public health workforce, OPHA offers professional development opportunities and pursues approvals from credentialing bodies to offer continuing education to OPHA members for free as part of their membership benefits. Since September 2023, OPHA is proudly:

An approved 2-year multi event provider (MEP) for the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing (NCHEC) to provide CHES/MCHES contact hours,
Reporting and receiving CPH credit approvals through, the National Board for Public Health Examiners, and
Providing certificates of attendance and evaluation for community health workers (CHWs), Registered Professional Sanitarians (RPS) and Registered Professional Environmental Specialists (RPES), and more public health professionals!

OPHA Meetings & Special Events

OPHA is growing the CEs we offer with our Sections, Committees, special events, and organizational partners! Please check our calendar to find our upcoming CE offerings. OPHA members pay no cost for CE as part of their member benefits and community health workers (CHWs) have their fee waived. All other CE-seeking individuals will pay a $15 fee per credit hour upon registration.

Annual Conferences

Up to 10 CPH & CHES/MCHES hours were offered during our 2025 conference, Building A Healthier Oklahoma Together
Up to 9 CPH, CHES/MCHES, and Licensed Social Work hours were offered for our 2024 Conference, Building Common Ground in Public Health
Up to 7 CPH, CHES/MCHES, and Licensed Social Work hours were offered during OPHA's 2023 Annual Conference

Receiving Certificates

OPHA processes requests for continuing education, distributes Certificates of Attendance & Evaluation via email, and reports earned credits to applicable credentialers (NCHEC) at least quarterly (January, April, July, & October). If you need your certificate sooner than the next quarterly distribution, please email admin@okpublichealth.org.

Certified Public Health Exam Discount

OPHA continues to partner with the National Board of Public Health Examiners to promote the Certified in Public Health (CPH) credential for our members. The CPH credential is the only credential of its kind for public health professionals that demonstrates knowledge of key public health sciences. OPHA members will receive a discounted rate of $315 on the exam fee. To receive the discount, select Oklahoma Public Health Association as an ‘Affiliation’ in your application.
