    Approximate distance: 1-1.5 miles (there are two walking paths)
  • Meet at the Robinson Lawn between the fountains/splash pad and Sky Rink near SW 7th and Robinson
  • Start time: Postponed due to muddy trail conditions. Reschedule TBA!
    Meeting spot: Parking lot 1
    Trail: Redbud Valley Trail (~1 mile)
  • Meet at the pavilion just past the 2nd parking lot.

Event Title: NPHW Nature Walks Across Oklahoma

Description: Join OPHA in closing our out 2026 National Public Health Week activities with a morning nature walk at your local park! Gather with your colleagues, friends, family, and community to get outside, get moving, and enjoy Oklahoma's spring beauty together!

Register: Register to confirm your participation and receive your walk lead's contact info! Your walk lead will decide site-specific details, such as the group meeting spot at your park, approximate end time, park facilities, etc closer to the event.

Ada: Wintersmith Park w/ Jessica Imotichey @ 10am

Norman: Saxon Park w/ McKenzie Cowlbeck @ 9:30am

Stillwater: OSU Botanic Gardens w/ Rachel Liebe @ 10am

Tusla: Oxley Nature Center w/ Marqua Harris -- postponed

OKC: Scissortail Park w/ Kara Stone @ 10am

Want to Lead a Walk in Your Favorite Local Park? We'd love for you to! Nature walk leads will be the point-person for your local walk, including:

  • Picking your favorite local park to hold the nature walk
  • Setting a meeting spot, start time, and (approximate) end time
  • Communicating updates or changes to your registered participants (we'll give you their provided emails)
  • Warmly welcoming folks and kicking-off the nature walk on April 11th!

Remember to Prepare Accordingly for Your Walk!

  • Wear comfortable walking shoes
  • Wear sun screen and/or protective clothing
  • Use insect repellant (ticks are already out!)
  • Bring a water bottleEating a nourishing breakfast and/or bringing a snack
  • Be a good steward to your local park and wildlife and leave no trace!
